Quick, Cute, and Comfortable: Christmas Clothes for every Occasion

Chelle Roman

The holidays keep us busy, busy, busy. Rushing around for gifts, planning to host guests, and attending parties makes this time of year feel like a mad dash. The last thing we want are clothes that aren’t comfortable, but we also don’t want to show up to Aunt Sally’s Christmas potluck looking like we rolled out of bed. I’ve taken it upon myself to put together a few outfit ideas and tips for dressing smart this season.

Pick out that tree in comfort and style

This outfit is casual and classic and, yeah, maybe a bit cheesy in the color theme department. But really, can you have too much red and green this time of year?! I think not. And the tweed coat is to die for. Cozy up with the awesome tartan scarf for a perfectly festive pop. The denim dress would be perfect over cable knit tights and riding boots. A staple in any wardrobe, carry it over into the spring as a casual look with sneakers. Bonus: breastfeeding friendly.

Riding boots (J.Crew)

Speaking of Aunt Sally’s potluck…

Bring on the jeggings! No one needs to feel the holiday bloat in uncomfortable pants. Top with a cream tunic blouse and fun cape scarf for an awesome layered look that will be great for eating and mingling. Use the tote to carry a bottle of wine and gift for the hostess.

Head over to Grandma’s house on Christmas morning

Cozy, cozy, cozy. That’s the name of the game on Christmas morning. No one needs to worry about their booty crack hanging out when they’re reaching under that tree. Start with a great, go-anywhere, casual coat. Snuggle up with a tunic length oversized sweater and the comfiest leggings (yes, as pants; but it’s a tunic, so it’s okay, I promise!). Add shearling lined sneakers (how am I just now finding out these exist?!) and extra soft socks to complete the look.

Tunic sweater (American Eagle)

Black leggings (Zella)

Shearling-lined boot sneakers (UGG)

Cozy socks (UGG)

Military jacket (American Eagle)

So you need to get fancy

Dressy doesn’t have to mean Spanx and uncomfortable heels. This sheath dress is perfect for getting glammed up this New Year’s Eve. Top with a gorgeous velvet blazer and add a fun embellished evening bag. As for those heels, well, they are on the shorter side for ease of wear. And pro tip: foldable flats are perfect for stashing in your bag if the heels fail your feet. Don’t sacrifice cute for comfort with this fun glittery pair.

Shop this look:

Shift dress (Halogen)

Velvet blazer (Gap)

Evening bag (Mango)

Black heels (kate spade)

Gold flats (Samara)
