How to Manifest a Better Life

written by Lindsay Tennant

Hello there! I’d like to talk about how to come to grips with this thing called life. Now, this is a very multifaceted topic, and our understanding of it varies with our upbringings, our beliefs, and from the societies that we live in. We have all been taught from the moment that we were born how to live. We have been taught right from wrong and how to behave and think by the people around us.

Here’s the thing: if you’re reading an article about how to manifest a better life, then I am willing to bet that you are not satisfied with or thriving in the way you’ve been taught to live.

You aren’t connecting to the way you know life should be lived.

I think we are here to experience things. We have been put on this earth to have experiences: “good” experiences and “bad.” But we often don’t realise that we are actually able to influence what happens in our life, because we have seen or been taught that life is hard, it’s a struggle, and a whole host of other things that get in the way of living life to its full potential.  We can change this, and experience more of the “good” things in life, if we allow ourselves to.

Now, I am sure you have heard of “the Law of Attraction.” It’s a buzz phrase that people have been talking about for a few years now. It is all about how “like attracts like” and the rest of the stuff that The Secret explains (there’s a film version of the book on Netflix, and it’s a good foray into the subject if you have some spare time).

My hope is that talking about this will help you start to shift the way you think. It may be painful at first, believe me—this may leave you questioning everything that you have been taught to believe. You need to come at this with an open mind.

The first thing that needs to be established is that everything in the universe is energy. Everything (even science-y people have found this out; look it up!) This is the first thing you need to accept if you want to start coming at this whole life thing from a different point of view.

Everything in the universe is energy—including you. Your thoughts turn into your feelings, and your feelings turn into your energy, and your energy is what you are putting out there. So basically, you need to check yo’ self before you wreck yo’ self. Seriously.

With that in mind, the first exercise I would like to share with you is to love yourself. Realise that you are an amazing creation, you are a human being having a spiritual experience, you are a miracle, and you are worthy of happiness and of living your best life. It needs to start there. You need to realize your worth. Once you start loving yourself, you will change your energy, and then you will start to attract that loving energy into your life.

I am going to stop here and let that sink in for now, because I could go on and on about this topic. Loving yourself is not something that we are taught to do in our society. We are taught to love and care for others and to neglect ourselves—and that just doesn’t work. We need to realize our worth. So for this week, try to catch when you say hateful and negative things to yourself. Just simply stop and switch the dialogue. Tell yourself that you love you, over and over and over again. You are worth it.
